Tilt-Shift Photography – Cheating with Photoshop

General, Photography

I was reading a cool blog post about Tilt-Shift Photography where you make the content of a photo look tiny like a toy for example. As I get it, to achieve the effect you are supposed to use a few specialist pieces of equipment, but you can achieve a very similar effect using good old photoshop. Essentially to achieve the effect you are just changing the perceived depth of field kind of like macro photography (I think, although don’t quote me on it :)) . You can see a nice tutorial on how to do it here. Below are my attempts ( The “Atrium” one is my personal favourite )

Nice, really like the atrium and park. The defender is pretty good too, but still looks a tad too real

Hi Ryan, cheers for the comment. I have to agree with the Defender, You can kind of see it, but you really have to concentrate on it. Thought I would just post it anyway though. Thanks again!

Hey, cheers for the comment. The article is well worth a look at if you have 5 mins and feel like trying something different!
